The Extender family is expanding
Our Extender range is acquiring a new unit. Still with the same principle: vehicles which offer greater versatility for more applications whilst optimising the cost of implementation at the same time.
In 2012, when we presented our very first EXTENDER, we obviously knew that it was meeting an expectation: as well as the functions of a normal OB van, the producers wanted more slow motion, casing, other functions (3D, a second screen, etc.) or to have integrated transmission or post-production solutions.
Extender 1 is a semi trailer which meets these demands by being able to operate alone or as a complement to another vehicle.
After the concept's success, it made sense for us to go a bit further. We thus decided to develop two new units, each inspired by these principles in a very different way: one as a versatile component and extremely mobile, the other as a tool especially adaptable to all configurations.
The Extender 2: the efficiency of a flight case, the comfort of an OB van.
This new unit, available as of May, is a vehicle completely suited to demands as it can incorporate a flight case in such conditions that the comfort equals that of a classic van. Modular and flexible spaces will allow for the organisation of the different spaces according to the type of production. Video, sound, enhancing, production, editing or even dressing rooms and make-up can be fitted in if desired.
Our FLY 3 control room is perfectly designed to fit into Extender 2 and we have also developed a storage space so there is no need for an extra vehicle.
Extender 3, the essential plug in.
The Extender 3 is not only a new unit, but an entirely new concept. Indeed, the Extender 3 is a 3.5T trailer which can be towed by a van or an equipment vehicle. It is thus, in the line of its range, an extension of the OB van with multiple features.
Thus, the Extender 3 will increase the possibilities of all the other OB vans by offering them a space for complementary functions.
Modularity and work comfort
The Extender 3 integrates 10 workstations, all versatile, and on demand it can incorporate slow motion operators, graphics operators, statistical loggers, streaming operators, etc.
Optimisation of methods
There is the possibility of increasing the production capacities, all whilst controlling the costs. By being towed, the Extender 3 limits the transport costs by sharing them with those of the OB van.
Already in action
The Extender 3 is debuting with the French Ligue 1 headline football matches of beIN Sports. It is interconnected with our Millénium Signature 10 truck and is used in the form of a slow motion van with the use of 8 workstations.
