AMP Visual TV

The "24 Heures du Mans"

24 heures du Mans 2013

Since 2006, AMP VISUAL TV has been providing the technical TV resources for an exceptional annual event, the 24 Hours of Le Mans race. Behind the scenes, 250 people are required to film and broadcast the event. An annual challenge.

24 heures du Mans

AMP VISUAL TV are no strangers to sports car races. From the WRC to the ERC, Formula 1 and the Paris-Dakar, our expertise is based on experience. A thorough knowledge of the constraints of this sort of broadcast, perfect mastery of RF transmission and close collaboration with the competing teams are essential for the success of operations.

Again this year, the Automobile Club de l'Ouest, organisers of the ultra-famous "24 heures du Mans" have called upon teams from AMP VISUAL TV. 250 people are involved, some for 2 weeks for the preparation and broadcast of the event worldwide. Here, the resources required are significant: 5 production cars, 35 Sony HDC 1500 cameras, 6 mini-cams on the stands and 12 cars each equipped with 2 cameras to produce the international signal and two private signals for TF1 and Eurosport.

For several years, all of these sources have been directly linked to TV Compound via a fibre optic cable covering the 13km circuit, either live or in RF. This system enables the whole race to be covered, both day and night.

New for the 2013 race is the recording of audio communication between the drivers and their stands, which is a real bonus for the TV channels.
Total immersion, exceptional images (particularly with Ultra slow motion), a unique atmosphere... the aim of all the technicians is to give their very best for this legendary race.

And it goes without saying that we have a particular fondness, a real affection, for this event.
