La Folle Journée de Nantes

FOLLE JOURNEE 2013

La Folle Journée de Nantes is a major classical music festival. For many years, AMP VISUAL TV has been assisting KM and ARTE in broadcasting several days of concerts.

La Folle Journée de Nantes means 350 concerts, 1 800 artists, and 145 000 tickets issued. It also means some 30 technicians filming a dozen concerts with six and a half hours of live broadcasting on ARTE on the Sunday of the festival. Our Millénium 1 van was at the Cité des Congrès de Nantes from 1st to 3rd February. It filmed seven concerts to be broadcast on the web on ARTE LIVE WEB on the Friday and Saturday. On Sunday, ARTE dedicated the entire afternoon and early evening on its channel to broadcasting La Folle Journée live. Several talk presentations also contributed to the broadcast. Our Millénium 1 van deployed between eight and ten cameras depending on the concerts and five cameras for the talk presentations. Interpreters in seven booths were involved in the broadcasting on the Franco-German channel.

The goal of La Folle Journée de Nantes is to take classical music concerts out of their traditional environment and propose them to the broadest possible audience. The event is hugely popular every year. For its 19th edition, the theme of La Folle Journée de Nantes was French and Spanish music from 1850 to today.
