Waza-ari and Ippon: The World Judo championships at Paris Bercy
With the Olympic Games one year away, the tatamis of the Omnisport Palace at Paris Bercy offered the French national judo team an ideal venue for showing its strengths. Vans 9, 11, and 3S formed the TV Compound for broadcasting the world championships.
On the schedule at the competition, 16 categories and approximately 900 participants going for global gold. The judokas saw some 60,000 spectators at Bercy in 6 days of competition.
Vans 9, 11, and 3S provided the High Definition Live signal broadcast on Canal + Sport, France 4, and Fuji TV (Japanese generalist channel). Van 11 was responsible for the international signal, Van 9 for the wrapping for Canal +, and Van 3S that for Fuji TV.
The key numbers for the championships: 70 technicians, 23 cameras, several dozens of commentator stations, one cable television network, 6 days of live HD, 3 days installed on site, 3 vans, and 1 RF team!
Van 11 produced 4 simultaneous signals, 3 video mixers, and 8 graphic wrappings in 2 languages.
