A summer spent all over the world.
Everyone knows that summer is the time to travel. This is lucky for us, as our expertise in sport and RF are particularly in demand around the world: for the last few months our teams have been racking up their air miles.
AMP VISUAL TV's RF department, named RF FACTORY, has built up a reputation that now goes far beyond the borders of France. Amongst the most notable entries in our travel diary this summer are motor racing events.
Motorsports
An example of our work for Eurosport is our coverage of each stage of the ERC (European Rally Championship), with some ten cars being equipped with our cameras. Sometimes recorded, sometimes broadcast live, the summer stages led us to Belgium, Romania, and the Czech Republic, before stopping off in Poland and Croatia.
Another race we shot for Eurosport was the WTCC (World Touring Car Championship), a touring car circuit championship. Eight cars are there to guarantee a perfect signal and they are equipped with three cameras, which we use to make live RF broadcasts thanks to a network of fibres that line the edge of the circuit. Since June our technicians' passports have also garnered stamps from Russia, Portugal, Argentina and the USA. Our staff are looking forward to adding Japan to that list.
As for endurance racing at the FIA WEC (World Endurance Championship), of which 24 Heures du Mans is the best example, we have just come back from Brazil and will soon be heading for the USA.
Of course we cannot talk about motorsports without mentioning the most famous one of all, Formula 1. This season, we are providing exclusive programming on Canal + for all the meets. To be precise, we are deploying an OB van to capture international signals and link them up with a commentator, studio and three RF cameras, so that the channel's journalists track-side can relate all the excitement of the event to viewers. The diversity of locations and sizes of the events mean that our teams have to be ever more ingenious. The season is also a rich one in this field, and stretches across the globe. Stop-offs on our route this season are Canada, the UK, Germany, Hungary, Belgium and Italy. The summer ended in Singapore with our brand new flight case OB van, the sixth in our fleet (which we will discuss again in a few weeks)..

Marathons, triathlons and cycle races have many things in common in terms of the technical systems they use for the purposes of television. These races cover major distances, and they require motorcycles equipped with RF systems linked by aerial equipment. RF FACTORY has a perfect grasp of these technologies that demand the use of a plane, global positioning, specially linked antennae and so on.
As well as the Madrid triathlon, we have covered the Tour de Pologne, with two special Italian stages (see article), the very first Ride London, the Arctic Race of Norway (read more) and the Tour des Fjords in Norway. Not to mention the services we have provided in France such as exclusive coverage for Eurosport of the Tour de France and the Classique de l'Indre, as well as the Grands Prix at Plouay and Fourmies.
Of course, we cannot discuss our sporting summer world tour without mentioning one of its flagship events, the World Athletics Championships in Moscow, for which we provided all the RF services. Find out the details in the article "The World Athletics Championships: AMP VISUAL TV in Moscow"
