More than one Tour up our sleeves
After the Tour de Pologne, we did the filming for the Arctic Race of Norway, a brand new cycling event organised by ASO which qualifies for UCI ranking.
Norway, north of the arctic polar circle, Thursday 8 August 2013. Our RF team went to Bodø, the starting point for the Arctic Race of Norway. An atmosphere of excitement hangs over the town as it hosts the first starting line of this brand new cycling race, organised by ASO. Fresh from the Tour de Pologne, our team follows the competitors on 3 video-equipped motorcycles, linked via RF to our relay aeroplane, soaring over landscapes bathed in the magical light of the poles. Our plane then sends the motorcycles' signals to the Norwegian OB van, from which the programme is produced by Jean-Maurice Ooghe, who is also producer for the Tour de France.
Over the 4 days of the race, the 705 kilometres of the route are enhanced by the Nordic countryside and the particularly warm atmosphere of a town delighted to take part in a sporting event that has delivered everything it promised.
