While our technical resources have been used to produce all presidential speeches from the Elysée, it is rare that the President travels for a show. For this occasion, our Studios Rive Gauche hosted the presidential show. The proximity (Studios Rive Gauche are located in the 15th arrondissement of Paris), infrastructure, and security of the site helped TF1 and the Elysée select our location.
The show placed the President of the Republic before a panel of ten French citizens. For more than two and one half hours on the air, they were able to ask the French Head of State their questions on issues that concerned them (employment, purchasing power, retirement, etc.). Internet users were also included in the debate by posing their questions live on TF1news.fr.
Followed by almost 8.3 million television viewers, the debate set the rhythm for more than one third of the French people watching the small screen that evening.
