A MAKEOVER FOR THE MILLENNIUM 8
It was the first French HD OB truck, so it was high time we gave it a fresh makeover. We kept what mattered and changed the basics... In other words... it's the same, but better!
It made its return for filming at the Lion d'Angers race track after three months in the workshop, and the development team that spent so long working on the project could not hide its pride in showing off the truck's new face.
The Millennium 8 is not quite the same.
At its heart is a new SONY MVS 7000x mixer, a new Grass Valley processed video grid, and a RIEDEL ARTIST intercom system. More powerful, and more reliable.
But, as is the norm at AMP VISUAL TV, the makeover also included the interior spaces and comforts.
We have expanded the "production" space to include five fully equipped workstations and four VIP places. The viewing area has also been redesigned to fit an extra space without compromising on the nest possible working conditions. Lastly, the second control room has been made into a separate space and fitted with additional workstations.
These new fittings have been accompanied by work on the interior design that remains a dedicated workspace, albeit more sociable and welcoming. The combination of light colours, quality woodwork and, for the very first time in an OB truck, polished concrete, has breathed new life into the Millennium range.
